I really get a kick out of his blog. I'd read it even if I wasn't hosted by BlueHost.

I'm of two minds on Microsoft. First, I should express my condolences for anyone ever having to use SharePoint anything. I quit a job once because it turned into nothing but SP administration. And I've been lucky enough not to use Office, almost ever, for the past few years.

But then some of their products ... SQL Server is very good. So is Visual Studio, C#, and a lot of their development framework. I have a love/hate relationship with asp.net; there are a few things PHP does that should be criminal for Microsoft to neglect. But they do give you tools to go under the hood and create some very scalable software. I like that their ( low end ) dev tools are free, but I know that's not altruism; they're hoping people will create software that keeps Windows relevant.

It's interesting to see who that quote comes from, since my site is hosted on Bluehost.

[...] Check it out! While looking through the blogosphere we stumbled on an interesting post today. Here’s a quick excerpt Matt Heaton is talking about Microsoft again. It’s not flattering. Microsoft has done this to themselves because they are either incapable of producing a quality product or they don’t care anymore if their product is great. Either way its not a company I will do business with. Do you disagree? Show me where I am wrong… I didn’t think so! - Matt Heaton / President Bluehost.com I have to agree. Due to client requirements I’ve been using Office 2007 and MS SharePoint Designer a bit lately. Now [...]
