Spelling Matters
Just because you’re jotting a short note to someone, doesn’t mean it can be incomprehensible gibberish. I’ve received a number of e-mails recently that look like they were typed by a child. These are supposed to be serious comments on a serious subject, and the author couldn’t take the time to write clearly. How am I supposed to take something seriously when upwards of half the words are misspelled?
Sure it may be just e-mail, but spelling does matter. Really, it does.

I couldn’t agree with you more. Spelling definitely does matter.
Half of the time I get e-mails from people that can’t even spell their own names right!
It happens to be one of my pet peeves, (now I hope I spelled that one right)!

The really silly part is that, with modern software, it’s getting difficult to find software that doesn’t have spell-check. Yet nobody apparently uses it.
