WordPress image placement
Evolvor has a short video clip on how to upload and place an image in WordPress. A nicely done and informative clip.
The following video is a short tutorial I found on You Tube about how to insert an image using Wordpress, for those of you who are just joining the WordPress army. - How to Insert an Image Using Wordpress | Evolvor

I do love me some wordpress… but I’m thankful for all the tips because I can only barely figure it out on my own! :)

I thought you’d appreciate this one since you’ve only recently changed to WordPress. I actually learned a bit on this one too. Since I’m already set up for uploading files due to my profession I usually skip the WordPress upload interface and just link to files I’ve uploaded through alternate means. Now I know how the interface works, so it’ll be easy to go that route too.

Uhm, upload it from the admin page and paste in the code it gives you? How hard is that?

I thought was nice that it gave you options. Thumbnail, etc.

Upload from the admin page? Which page are you referring to?

rightwingprof, it’s obvious that some assistance is needed for newbies, that’s why I went searching for the video. It’s probably the most frequently asked question asked by my clients (even after I explain it to them), so I searched for the video so they can reference it. Stay tuned as more videos will follow (I plan on doing some of my own as well!)

Eric, great post.
And some of us who’ve never never taken the time to see how WordPress handled uploads.
It’s one of those things I’ve been meaning to investigate, but hadn’t gotten around to. Since I was already using upload utilities for work, I just never took the time. Now I know. I’ll probably use it in the near future.

Click upload on your admin page. Browse for the file and upload it. It returns the img tag, and you paste it into your article.

I may be confusing pages, but the only upload link I know of is on my “write” page. My main admin page doesn’t have anything like that that I can see. I have four installations of WordPress and I don’t think I’ve seen any page that has upload options other than the “write” page.

I’m using 1.5.2. I understand later versions radically changed the admin interface. Still, wherever it is, there’s an upload function there.
