Thanks for the kind words and the suggestions as well.

I’ve already fixed one mistake by including you on the blogroll. You see, I’m a dork. I don’t know HOW often I’ve followed links here and always liked what I read, yet somehow I’ve always forgotten to add you to the blogroll. Consider that fixed now.

As to the suggestions, I agree completely. I’d get right on it too, if it weren’t for the fact that I’m constantly pushed for time, not to mention that me trying to clean up the code would most likely take longer than I’ve got left on the planet ;) It’d be well worth doing, though, if only to speed up the loading times.

Oh, and then there are the stuff that depends on outside sources, such as Blogads, but those I can’t do anything about.

Glad you like the series, I was aiming for that “nuts and bolts” idea. I thought non-designers would find it an interesting to see how a designer “sees” a site. I’m trying to balance both the straight design aspects of the sites I review, with the technical aspects of what works and doesn’t work. I’m very pleased with how it’s going so far.

Misha being well spoken doesn’t come as a big surprise. His grasp of the language comes across clearly in his writing. Very funny, very well written.

BTW, Misha sorta “knows” me, and I sent your link to him. He’s a great guy (you should HEAR his accent… oh, wait, maybe that’s a girl-thing *grin*) and extremely well spoken, with an elegant turn of phrase. In fact, you can hear him on Wide Awakes Radio (http://wideawakesradio.com) on Thursdays from midnight to 1 AM, ET.

I really like this series you’re doing… It give me a little insight as to what’s going on in the nuts and bolts of a blog.

I doubt that you risked life or limb, considering that the web designer is the token liberal in the Empire. Misha I is where you go to read the best ranting on the blogosphere, but it isn’t for the faint of heart. He makes Ann Coulter look like a Democrat — though to be fair, he goes after idiots on the right too.
