Something New
Finishing up a new WordPress theme for this blog. It’s not quite finished yet, but I’m going to force it on you anyway. I’ve put together a little from a couple of older blog designs from this site, and a couple of new things. It loads a little slower than the last one, but that was pretty minimalistic.
- The cowboy at sunrise image is not me, but I did take the picture. My hat too. It’s been edited to extend it slightly to the left.
- The wolf is stock photography.
- The image of the spurs is mine, as are the spurs.
- The texture down the left edge is leather tooling from a saddle I inherited from my father.
I’m fairly pleased with it so far, but as always, we’ll see what I think after a few days.
Update: Of course as soon as I posted this, the sunrise photo dropped out for a few minutes. All better now.

Just dropped by this morning to make sure it was changed and I wasn’t dreaming, really glad that I did, it is more beautiful now than when I went to bed last night. Last night when I saw it and read your explanation of it I was so impressed except for one thing, I couldn’t see the Sunset!! I thought it was my eyesight going and was going to make an appointment with the eye doctor today! Glad I took a second look because I am very happy to report that: I CAN SEE! I am happy to know that I am not loosing my eyesight or my mind!! I was so impressed with the beauty of it last night but this morning it is even more beautiful, congratulations for a job very well done, by the way, I like the way that the right column now comes into this page instead of me having to click on the back button all of the time!

The individual images were done in PhotoShop, but while some people work on layouts on PhotoShop, I don’t. I do layouts in Dreamweaver, and I start without any images. I have images I want to use in mind, but I wait to place them until the layout has started to come together. I usually place background images first and work towards the front. Sort of setting the foundation before I put the finishing touches on with the header images, etc. Does that answer your question? Feel free to ask more questions if you want clarification on something.
