Indiana Wandering – Indiana Railway Museum
I found the Indiana Railway Museum in French Lick, Indiana. Home of Larry Bird for any Celtics fans. The trip takes you ten miles through some very pretty country, then reverses back to the start. If you move to the back of the train in time for the reverse trip, you can look over the shoulder of the conductor who sits on the back platform (front?) as a lookout at road crossings. Nicely low tech.
Traveling through the 2,200 foot Burton tunnel was an interesting. All lights are out as the train passes through this almost half mile of tunnel.
It’s a beautiful train ride, but take a good camera and fast film because most of the track is overshadowed by trees and the light level is a little low. Here are a few of my favorite photos.

These are just breathtaking! I ADORE the one of the conductor!

Cool! I love trains, and that looks like a lovely route.

A much prettier route than my photos show. It didn’t lend itself to the film I had with me. Not fast enough film. I made do, but missed some really good opportunities because there wasn’t enough light.

Must have been nice going so far back in time in today’s world. I love the Conductor and the 1/2 mile of dark tunnel would have really been interesting, get any pictures while in the tunnel looking out?
I also love the photo’s of the tree trunks in your previous pictures, especially the 2nd one!
