Indiana Wandering – Patoka Lake

More wandering at Patoka Lake, Indiana. I spent several days on the shore, and I never ran out of things to photograph. Here are couple of random photos that I liked. If I’d stayed longer I might have rented a boat, that seemed popular, but for this trip walking was enough.

  2. I loved that one too! That was a fun walk. It was dusk as you be able to tell from the light. Some great photo opportunities… Some of which I captured.

  3. I grew up on a cattle farm, most of which is now under Patoka (the rest is lakefront property, next to Painter Creek). We sold the farm a few years ago.

  4. I too have recently spent a vacation in southern Indiana. I stayed at a lodge in the French Lick/Taswell area near Patoka Lake and the Newton/Stewart State Recreational Area. It was a beautiful area and the State Recreational Area was greatly appreciated. It was clean, well maintained, and a good value. I highly recommend the area for a relaxing get away. The only downer of the trip was the dive we ended up renting. It is definitely a place where “renter beware” is the best philosophy. Stick with resorts or rental agencies where there is hope for recourse if things don’t work out as expected.

  5. Some of the resorts in that area did look very nice.

    Thanks for the comment.

  6. [...] Are you working in layers in PhotoShop? You should be. The best thing about digital images is that they can be edited so easily. It’s the worst thing about them too. Take a look at this picture of the beach at Patoka Lake. [...]
