Did you know?

What do you know about our former Presidents? Go over to {un}common sense and learn a bit more.

My favorite bit is a quote from John Quincy Adams, our 6th President.

“You will never know how much it cost my generation to secure your freedom. I hope you will make good use of it.”

  1. My favorite President is Thomas Jefferson:
–”It is error alone which needs the support of government. Truth can stand by itself.”
–”Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add ‘within the limits of the law’ because law is often but the tyrant’s will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.”
–”I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.”
–”The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.”
