As my two loyal readers have no doubt noticed, I haven’t been on-line much lately. The reason for my absence has arrived. The newest member of the Wanderer family came into the world fat, healthy, and screaming at 10:00 a.m. (family resemblance already?). Baby Wanderer is 9 lb. 4 oz. and twenty one inches long. Fortunately for her she takes after her mother and is quite beautiful.

I’m looking forward to seeing how this is going to work out. Could be interesting. 2.5 terabytes of information about Mohamed Atta were destroyed. 2.5 terabytes is huge! It would take a big rug to sweep that under.

There is a great post by Right Wing News The 20 Most Obnoxious Hurricane Katrina Quotes.
“This accusation that the levees were blown for political reasons fits with an overall pattern consistantly persued by this administration. Indeed, it fits with the objectives outlined by many in the neo-con camp, with the past support of the Bush family of eugenics, and with the recent callous remarks…” — Daily Kos Diarist Brenda speculates that the levees in New Orleans were deliberately blown to flood the city
“George Bush doesn’t care about black people…They’re giving the Army permission to go down and shoot us.” — Kayne West
“If the majority of the hardest hit victims of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans were white people, they would not have gone for days without food and water, forcing many to steal for mere survival. Their bodies would not have been left to float in putrid water.” — Nancy Giles on CBS’s Sunday Morning
Are people really this stupid? This leaves me speechless.

I’ve been fantastically busy for the last couple of weeks. My office moved, several weeks of packing followed by a week of transition. We are just starting the busy season here at work (great time to be moving, don’t you think). And most importantly, I’m trying to wrap up the preparations for my new daughter who should be here this week some time.
I have been trying to keep up on current events as I can, but have been failing for the most part. Here is a few things I’ve noticed lately that I thought were interesting.
